Our Lab Values

We learn, collaborate, document, and pursue science together for a healthier tomorrow.

What Guides Us

Our lab values define how we work, collaborate, and pursue scientific discovery. They are more than statements of principle. They are the foundation of our daily decisions and the driving force behind our long-term impact.

Integrity and Trust

We report what is true, not what is convenient.

Curiosity and Courage

We ask better questions and challenge assumptions.

Collaboration

We grow faster when we help one another.

Stewardship and Efficiency

We use time, funding, and materials wisely.

Human-Centered Impact

Our science should matter beyond the bench.

Respectful Communication

We listen carefully, speak constructively.

Ownership and Accountability

We take responsibility for our work, mistakes, and decisions.

Shared Commitment

Together, we turn values into everyday practice.

Integrity and Trust

Trustworthy science requires honest communication, complete records, and transparent corrections. We report negative results, errors, limitations, and deviations openly because a well-documented failure is more valuable than an impressive result that cannot be verified or reproduced.

In practice, this means that we...

  • Report what actually happened, not what we hoped would happen.

  • Preserve original data and document every transformation.

  • Record experiments contemporaneously and with enough detail for review.

  • Communicate unexpected, negative, or contradictory results openly.

  • Acknowledge uncertainty and limitations in our interpretations.

  • Explain exclusions and analytical decisions.

  • Take responsibility for mistakes and correct them transparently.

  • Give fair credit for intellectual, technical, and collaborative contributions.
