Missouri S&T Research Featured on KRCG-TV for Personalized Immunotherapy Research
October 15, 2026
The Yazdi Lab was recently featured by KRCG-TV for its work on developing personalized immunotherapies for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms of breast cancer.
The report highlights research led by Dr. Mostafa Yazdi, Assistant Professor in the Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The project aims to engineer tumor-derived nanoparticles capable of reactivating the immune system against cancer.
The long-term vision of the research is to create patient-specific nanoparticle immunotherapies generated from an individual's own tumor tissue, providing a potentially more effective and less toxic approach to cancer treatment. The project is currently in the preclinical stage, involving laboratory and animal studies.
The KRCG-TV feature also showcased members of the Yazdi Lab and highlighted the team's commitment to advancing innovative cancer immunotherapies that may one day improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with TNBC.
